Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two episodes on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. The actress did not go on to explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental impact stress might be a cause of. Perry claims she never wanted to become an actor during highschool but decided to start playing as a way to make friends during her time at Northwestern University when she switched to it from Boston University. Perry managed to get minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent when she finished her degree. However, her homesickness caused her to move back to California and she returned working on stage. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway with her as part of The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on ABC's show The Family. Her father played her on the ABC show Scandal. The actress also portrayed in the role of a young Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The role was offered to her through an open audition despite being a fan of the role.
